Thomastown Community Network has secured funding from the Kilkenny County Council Graveyard Grants Scheme to carry out a conservation report for the Thomple Thaeghawin, which was the Church of Grennan (near Castle Avenue and Mallfield Estates).
All that remains today of this historic building are a few tombs and a beautiful three-light tracery window in the east gable. The east gable needs to be stabilised, and the perimeter stonewall secured.
Ivor McElween Associates (Historic Building Consultants & Conservation Engineering Services) will be carrying out the report.
