Our next event will be a guided heritage loop river walk, along the banks of the River Nore and into the Grennan Woods. It will start at 11 a.m. on Sunday August 27th, and will take approximately two hours.
The starting point will be the Ollie Walsh statue at Mill Street. The route will include a number of important historic sites, as well as examples of our wonderful natural heritage. The wooded valley of the Nore is a very special place, which will be brought to life by expert local guides.
Remember to bring rain gear (just in case!), practical footwear, water, and snacks.
This event is free for everybody to enjoy. It is being sponsored by Thomastown Community Network as part of National Heritage Week.
To whet the appetite, here’s a video to promote the River Walk. The video was arranged by our Heritage Officer Dearbhala Ledwidge, and produced in association with KCLR FM.
